3M IJ180Cv3 vs Avery MPI 1105: Which Wrap Film Should You Order?
3M IJ180Cv3 and Avery Dennison MPI 1105 Easy Apply RS are the two films most wrap shops reach for on full vehicle wraps. Both are premium cast films built to go over rivets, corrugations and compound curves, and on WrapPrinting.com they're the same price: $5.27 per square foot, printed, laminated, trimmed and paneled. So the choice usually comes down to how your installers like to work, the finish your customer wants and any warranty your customer needs.

How they feel on the vehicle
Both films let an installer lift and reposition during layout, and both bleed air out through channels in the adhesive, so bubbles push out instead of getting trapped. Avery builds Easy Apply RS to slide on first contact, which helps when lining up large panels. 3M builds Controltac to reposition easily until it's pressed down firmly. Neither is better across the board. If your crew has a favorite, that's usually the right call.
When to order 3M IJ180Cv3
- Your customer's fleet spec names 3M, or they want a 3M warranty.
- Your installers are trained on 3M films and prefer how Controltac handles.
- A gloss finish is what the design calls for.
When to order Avery MPI 1105
- The design calls for a luster (satin look) or matte finish.
- Your customer's spec names Avery Dennison, or they want an Avery warranty.
- Your crew likes a slideable adhesive on big panels.

3M and Avery Dennison warranty programs cover finished graphics made with matched components, and each program has its own requirements for film, laminate, ink and installation.
